Similar threads
I have a thread running through me that ran through my grandfather Frank Hill and my mother Patricia Hill Jacobs. It is a need to journal or write down things I see and hear. While both of them were historians I am more of an inspirational writer. I like to document feelings with nature or people. I feel emotions dancing inside me when I drive through the mountains or stand on an seashore. I can't identify the feeling until I sit down to write and they come flowing back to me. I hear a bird's song and it takes me out away to another place and a vision of their flight and where they are going, and what they are seeing and feeling. I end up on a journey and it leads to so many places, sometimes I wonder how I got there. Today I was sitting on my sofa and I saw something red in the Bradford Pear tree outside. I went to the door and quietly opened the patio door. I waited as not to scare whatever it was away. In a few minutes a woodpecker appeared with his red headdress bobbing back a forth as he pecked at the trunk of the tree. His haram appeared in their drab gray attire but lovely to watch . I also loved the powerful Canadian geese who flew by with destination on their radar.
I am waiting for my yellow and house finches to come along with my daffodils and red tulips. Spring is a time of new birth and second chances.

My moment contemplation
Nov 14, 2014 I am contemplating this morning. Trying to rest in your completed work. It is finished. What is finished? Ron has incurable cancer..Tom did. He's gone, Jim is gone. Should it be this hard?Is there alot of garbage in between you and I . Is there chaos, confusion? What lies between us to see the seed of faith materialize. , I should'nt have to ask these questions. It shouldn't be a theory or a doctrine..Help me Lord. Its me that lies between us..Chris Gore says , we have been crucified with you and we no longer live..that our life is hidden your life. Its you touching ,healing, delivering. I must get out of the way.

Seasons of Calm
My granddaughter Zion INDIAN SUMMER
asked me this morning, what is your favorite season? " Now,"I said. It's called Indian summer." Its the time of year when the nights are cooling off a bit and the monsoons have begun. When the stillness of a change is in the air. I told her to look up in the sky. She exclaimed "Balloons"! Where we live, hot air balloons began to dot the skies when the air in the morning is cooler. Several drifted over as we were enjoying the patio outside. You began to see a slight change in the leaves on the trees especially up toward the mountains. My morning glories are beautiful this time of year draping our fence in their hot pink hues and our sunflowers are towering up toward the blue, blue morning skies. Underneath them are deep orange marigolds and purple statis. The hummingbirds are still coming, but a little less frequently. The golden and house finches are still feasting at their seed socks. In the garden, our black-eyed peas are growing like crazy and the squash is finally coming along. Our peach trees are weighted down with loads of peaches that need just a little longer before picking. The days are hinting that cooler weather is on the way. The pumpkins will be ready in about 8-10 weeks and freezing and canning will be a typical sight in the kitchen. I love the gradual slide into fall around here. Our pool is still open but we are only taking a few dips a week now. Kids are in school, and the anticipation of football games are on my mind. Green chilis are being roasted and you can smell the wonderful New Mexico aroma filling the air at most grocery stores and open markets. I love the time of year!
